Melissa has worked with children, adolescents and families for over 40 years as an educator and clinical counselor. Trained in the Montessori Method of education, Melissa taught in the classroom with young children for many years before stepping into school administration, leading Montessori schools for 20 years. Along the way she completed her MA in counseling and worked with survivors of domestic violence as well as with adults, children and adolescents in school-based health clinics and community health organizations. Over her career, Melissa has given dozens of presentations and workshops in parenting and child development, as well as successfully coached numerous parents and teacher in creative approaches to solving behavioral problems at home and in the classroom. She has helped numerous people empower themselves to heal form traumatic stress, grief, depression, anxiety, and to find better ways to solve life problems.
When out of the office, Melissa enjoys gardening, working with horses and practicing yoga.
